Additional Description:I am a colourist and abstractionist. This series is of old barrio homes in Tucson and Mexico. Through oil paint, stick & pastels, I create whimsical images of homes and gardens that tell the stories of their owners and the places they are situated. Colour and joy permeate each painting. Edges painted black and wired for hanging.
I wanted to capture some of the beautiful homes and gardens in my home town of Tucson. I then visited San Miguel de Allende and saw the beautiful colonial architecture there and was hooked. I had to tell the stories of each of the homes I saw and capture them through colour and my abstract sensibility.
Artist StatementI am a colourist who tells stories with my art. Each canvas or mosaic I create starts at the beginning and as the conversation between me and the canvas unfolds so does the image. My muse is the Sonoran desert I call home but my stories can also be about the places I travel to, my family, or interactions with other people. Or they can be about emotional connections to an experience or action.

My work has been called flamboyant, juicy and full of life. Each creation is unique and full of colour, whimsical and full of joy. Exploring other peoples stories also intrigues me and I love to create something based on a favorite photo or experience of a customer.
Artist BiographyI was born in NYC and spent my childhood exploring museums, art fairs and galleries. I loved to draw and paint. So it was natural for me to want to be an artist and go to NYU where I received a BA in fine arts. During my university years I also landed my first gallery in NY on 8th street.

After NYU, I emigrated to Canada and started a career in the arts - painting. Over the years I have been represented in the US and Canada, had many solo and group exhibitions, and participated in the US State Department's Art in Embassies program.

These days you can find me in my studio in Tucson AZ creating my colourful art - painting and creating fine art mosaics.
