Description:This sunset was taken while running errands with my children, we came out of a Bed, Bath & Beyond and the sky looked like it was on fire.
I love painting skies of all sorts, particularly sunsets. Send clear jpegs or prints of a sunset or sky scape you'd like expressed and tell me what colors or characteristics you would like emphasized.

Artist Biography“The aim of art is to represent not the outward appearance of things, but their inward significance. “- Aristotle

I have always seen art as a mirror which I can reflect my personal thoughts and observations.
I am most interested in portraying our human connection with everyday objects: through still-life's or the ‘domestic landscapes’ we inhabit.
I paint objects that have left an imprint, they signify my unique experience. Like the Dutch 'vanitas' painters, I love the use of symbolism to express narrative in a surreptitious manner.
Painting is my favorite form of communication. Whether a still-life, portrait or landscape, creating nuanced color palettes to portray the effects of light is ever-engaging for me.

What I Love Doing
Almost anything with my family; travel, hiking and exploring in general. I always want to know what’s around the next bend.
What I Find Beautiful
The ever-changing Texas skies; all of them, vibrant fiery sunsets, ominous dark clouds threatening hail and tornados and the hallmark Texas sky with puffy white clouds against a field of cerulean blue.
My Favorite Memory
My favorite memories are summer nights on the deck of my parent’s Hill Country cabin. So often even a warm breeze could bring a chill to my sunburned skin. We would all sit for hours, gazing at the milky way, pointing out constellations, as crickets and other wildlife sang. Some of the sweetest conversations and memories have been shared between multiple generations in that spot.
My Favorite Art Style
Realism from any period for the skill. Expressionism, though so different from my own work in style, I love they found it more important to express emotional experience over physical reality in their work. The artist’s I enjoy most from this period are Van Gogh, Klimt, and Munch.
